VERMEIL

For gold-plated or vermeil jewelry, we recommend removing it before showering, bathing, swimming, or exercising to prevent wear and tear on the gold plating and thus prolong its lifespan. Any contact with chemicals (perfumes, lotions, cleaning products, etc.) can dull the shine or plating of your jewelry. The gold plating can then wear away, revealing the silver underneath. Furthermore, leaving vermeil jewelry in a bathroom is a bad idea: being a humid environment, it promotes oxidation and therefore the degradation of the vermeil.

Even though vermeil is resistant to wear and tear, small marks may appear on the surface of your jewelry after a while. Simply clean your piece gently with a sponge or soft toothbrush dipped in soapy water. Then, dry it thoroughly with a dry cloth to remove all traces of moisture.
